E Mail Round up

From Michael Bates - 5th April at around 14:00 a Red Kite was flying around the Mere at Marloes for about 15 minutes before heading off in a easterly direction.

From Sue jenkins -Just to record sighting today of 4 crossbills yesterday in Pantmaenog forest just inside the boundary near the track to Rosebush from Bwlch Pennant at approx 4pm. 2 females drank from fresh water running down the track, and were seen at close quarters. They flew off to join 2 other birds that could not be seen clearly. The group of 4 were seen and heard calling several times over the forest in the next hour and a half. Also 6 lesser redpolls there.

From Jill and Alastair Proud - Birds seen on walk along Preseli ridge to top of Foel Cwmcerwyn on bank holiday Monday.  Abundant numbers of meadow pipits and skylarks and a pair of wheatears on rocky outcrop. A single swallow flew past on the top of Foel Cwmcerwyn, and a black redstart in the quarry  below the top.
Larger birds included carrion crows, red kites, peregrine, 2 kestrels, ravens, pair of buzzards and golden plover were heard.
