Marloes Mere

Quick look this evening. Whimbrel everywhere - fields near Mullock Farm, at Mullock Bridge and fields each side of Marloes village and c30 on the mere with 2 Black-tailed godwits among them. First Swift and more House martins tonight. The 4 Pochard still here but no sign of the Garganey, 3 pairs Teal, a male Shelduck was aggressively defending a patch, another pair departed in the direction of Skokholm. Single male Gadwall. Shoveler - 3 pairs and 2 males. A Coal tit by Britton hide was new. The high water levels seem to be attracting plenty of wildfowl, but little sign of any small waders apart from a dunlin which flew over before settling by Oriole Hide, and more rain on the way!
