Common Scoter flock - Teifi

Wader, hirundine and warbler visible migration around the Teifi appears slow, but small numbers of Common Scoter are passing the estuary every morning.
10:35 this morning, a flock in usual line formation came over the Poppit dunes along the estuary and out west past Cemaes Head. The flock of c45 birds presumably had migrated overland and followed the Teifi Valley to the sea, rather than a river going south into Carmarthen Bay ie The River Towy?
This seems more likely than a large flock heading up river and u-turning on seeing Cardigan Town ?
