Marloes and Gann

As Derek reports the Marsh Harrier (juv) was mostly keeping distant and preferred flicking up and down the hedgerows and surrounding fields. It dropped onto the mere and struggled trying to lift a prey item up before eventually letting go? From time to time it sat in among the vegetation, just its orange crown visible. At one stage it flew from the barb-wire gate directly up and over the Oriole Hide I was in! Didn't notice many ducks tonight, but it did put up 7 Snipe and a Dunlin(?).

Gann: Last light. 2 GBB gulls with Skokholm rings (Rich and Giselle, light was poor but possibly W:031 and W:072). Also a Whimbrel with rings (Yellow above Green). 20 Ringed plover, 20 Dunlin, 2 Common Sandpipers, 6 Whimbrel and a Kingfisher by Crabhall.
