Great Grey Shrike - The Gann

Just about that time of year when I start thinking about heading up to the hills 'shriking'. But really surprised to see one at the Gann at 11am this morning! It flew the length of the pools parallel to the ridge before settling in the scrub beside the car park, local pipits weren't happy. Whilst sorting the camera out a walker flushed it from its perch and lost to sight. Paul G was at the opposite end and we both had a good look around but not further sign when I left Paul there at 11.30am. A bit of a wintery theme with a Ring ouzel, Short-eared Owl, Golden plover and lots of Redwings (some large continental-type blackbirds flying with them) up on the airfield earlier.
