Waders and Wildfowl

A report here from Graham and Joan Stephens of waders and wildfowl on the Western Cleddau this morning:

A boat trip this morning from Neyland to Little Milford on the Western Cleddau saw large numbers of waders, duck and geese. Wigeon in significant numbers (100+) in Garran Pill (along with Teal)  and around Picton Point. Similar numbers of Curlew along shoreline of Coedcanlas along with Lapwing, Oystercatchers and Redshank. Oystercatchers also at various places along the estuary but a flock of 50 or so birds at Saltpool, just north of Rudders boatyard.
Sprinkle Pill had large numbers of duck including Wigeon, Mallard and Teal. There were also between 175 and 200 Greylag geese in the Pill with similar numbers of Canadas on the opposite shore at Landshipping.  At Boulston opposite Little Milford, 100+ redshank with one greenshank. Also 100+ Lapwing and smaller numbers of Dunlin. Single sightings of Little Egrets all along the estuary.
