The best sightings from a couple of visits today;-
A fine adult male Red-breasted Merganser in the main estuary, with a Red Kite overhead.
Redshanks are now up to a nice count for the Teifi -- 25 ! Lapwing numbers are hovering around the low hundreds, 180 today.
Numbers of the small gull species were low - 5 Common Gulls and 100 Black-headed were maximums today. Low tide loafing gulls - 830 Herring and 350 Lesser Black-backs, and this evening Cardigan island looked empty. Presumably our big gulls had gone to Llys-y-fran resr. after feeding on soaking fields ?
