A windy St Govans Head & very brief look at Bosherston lakes Eastern Arm

During a very cold and blustery coastal NEWS walk today, from St Govan's Chapel to Broadhaven, there were few birds of note but a very fine adult male hen harrier flew along the coast heading into the Castlemartin Range near Broadhaven.

There were very few waterfowl on the extremely flooded Bosherston Lakes murky eastern arm this afternoon. Most of the coot and gadwall and a couple of tufted ducks had moved down the lake to feed, away from the shallower upper eastern arm (was it too silty to feed there perhaps?). Five goosanders (4 males and a female) and a couple of little grebes were about the only waterfowl of note in the upper arm.
