Castlemartin - Island Blogs

The 2 Marsh Harriers were still present at Castlemartin Corse this morning - either sat on bushes or floating over the reeds. A few Mallard and 2 Grey Herons on the water in front of the reed bed and over on the north side of the Corse there were 14 Lapwing with some display and calling going on.

At the far, east, end of the Corse there were 5 Greylags, 4 Grey Herons and I flushed 42 Snipe in all walking the Corse. 3 Buzzards seen. 2 Cettis were singing by the big stand of conifers.

A reminder that the wardens are now back on Skokholm and Skomer after the winter break and Ramsey, of course remains occupied. Keep up with the news from the islands by following the links to the right.
