Stackpole this afternoon

A late afternoon visit to Stackpole warren and coast produced a few migrants including a single tree pipit feeding near the Bronze Age Settlement Site, a whitethroat in the scrub nearby (personal first records of these two species this year).

Three whimbrels were feeding on the coast near Sandy Pit. Offshore there were 9 sandwich terns feeding in Broadhaven Bay, some occasionally resting on Church Rock.

At least one of the heron nests on the eastern arm now has young - they were being fed at the time by one of the parent birds (observed across the lake from the lakeside footpath). Two goosanders (male and female) were still present on the lake.
