Teifi -- waders and other things....

Small waders have arrived in the estuary - at 730am a mobile feeding flock comprised, 15 Sanderling, 10 Ringed Plover, 1 Turnstone and 45 Dunlin. A Redshank was also calling.
By 1100am the mix was now 49 Dunlin and 27 Ringed Plover. Five Common Sandpipers at the old Jewson site and 1 on Cardigan Island.

Manxies were moving west offshore in number, but the highlight were the Gannets - continuously flying west, sometimes in small lines, c 720 birds past in 2 hours.

A surprise early this morning....
Deposited overnight on the boat moored in the tidal mouth of the Teifi....

The toolbox lid is 450mm square. I guess the deposit is from one of the local playful Otters ? We have seen them on the beach, the jetty and on boats when we are out at night with lamps.
