Braved the torrential rain this morning for a few hours with Toby Phelps & Jason Moss. Pembroke Upper Mill Pond was unusually hard to view but we managed 8 Greenshank amongst the 100+ Black-tailed Godwits and similar number of Teal, as well as a brief Kingfisher.
On to Angle Bay where the majority of waders were at Kilpaison at high tide. Highlights were a Little Stint and 6 Curlew Sandpipers (all juveniles). Also a Sanderling, 10 Knot, 8 Redshank, 2 Bar-tailed Godwits, just 2 Ringed Plover, 8 Turnstone, 150+ Dunlin, 3 Sandwich Terns and at least 7 Wigeon with the 60+ Mallard on the shore. At the harbour end 3 Med Gulls, 3 Sanderling, 6 Redshank and a roost of 16 Little Egrets. Wet and bedraggled we retired to Pembroke for a fry up.
