Castlemartin Corse WEBS

The rain held off for a good outing with Rob and Christine Lewis. Still no ducks (or water), but 360 lapwing and 640 golden plover, 4-500 of them still based in the field S of Starman's Hall. Lots of snipe (98 counted, probably more undisturbed in the wetland), a woodcock a new addition to our counts. The unusually pale buzzard still around, as was the female marsh harrier. Cetti's and water rail in the reedbed.

The water table is very low, the pond in Broomhill Burrows much reduced. No birds at all there.
