Bittern and Water pipit, Newgale

A Water Pipit with a dozen Rock Pipits, briefly, on the campsite before work this morning. Everything flushed, probably by a bird of prey, leaving the campsite deserted.  Moving across to check the Teal on a very flooded marsh behind the Duke, a Bittern appeared stalking along the edge of the reedbed. By the time I'd untangled the camera strap from the scope strap (!) it had walked into the reeds. Nipped down with Paul this evening but nothing, water levels were much reduced.
