Oiled birds - Gann

I went out first thing this morning to check the Gann following yesterday's incident.

2 oiled Black-headed Gulls were recorded, photographed and reported to NRW and my contact at Milford Haven port. I assume the oil was fresh based on the birds frantic preening behaviour.

The usual waders; 105 Curlew, Oiks, Redshank, 1 Bar-tailed Godwit appeared to be feeding as normal on the shoreline with Wigeon and Teal, the Goldeneye and RB Merganser on the pools and river. A Kingfisher was also present on pools.

I know we'll all keep checking during the coming days for further oiled birds - the advice remains to contact NRW in the first instance, either directly (Jon?) or 03000 653000.
