Nothing very exciting recently, so here are some ringed Black Backed Gulls from last month.
Lesser BB 2 x 1cy post fledging dispersals; Yellow D=Z, Sept 1, had been ringed as a nestling at a rooftop site in Worcester. Blue 351:R, Sept 24, ringed as a chick in Ireland's largest inland LBB colony at Lough Ree. This was the first report of one of their birds from Wales.
2 migrants dropping in; White 3Z3:C, Sept 7, had been ringed as an ad in Scotland (Clyde) in June 2017, Was in Portugal in Sept 2017 & 19, & presumably on it's way back there. White N:45R, Sept 21, had been ringed as an ad in Fuengirola (Spanish Med) in Feb 2019. This the first report.
Great BB Oddly no Skokholm birds. White L:FAO, Sept 16, had been ringed as a chick in Looe, Cornwall in 2019, with 2 sightings in Cornwall in Aug 19 & Feb 20. Orange S80:M, Sept 24, had been ringed as a chick on the Calf of Man in 2019 - this the first resighting.
