Gann 13/4

Can't quite match Skok's 49, but we had 5 Greenland Wheatears this evening at the Gann, including this absolute belting male which I was able to get quite close to with some patience, and a belly crawl a commando would have been proud of:

Whimbrel had increased to 13, Ringed Plover stable at 13, Dunlin up at 8, and 2 Redshank including no.51 which we last saw on 5th and presumed had departed with the rest of the 12 present that day.  You live and learn!  New in on the wader front were 2 Common Sandpipers.  3 Curlew remain, including ringed no.34.

Still at least 1 Great Northern Diver in the bay, and the 51 Brent Geese are still here, fattening themselves ready for that long journey NW.

Quite an amazing alba wagtail roost in the Crabhall reedbed this evening, a minimum of 65 birds of which at least 16 were White Wagtails.  We hold out hope that some day soon a Yellow will join them!!
