Ridgeway warblers

I took a ramble this morning up towards the Ridgeway through the scrub and rough, rushy pasture. A lot of clearing and felling by the farmer last autumn has opened it up considerably, evidently favouring garden warbler - I was delighted to find a singing male. Blackcaps and chiffchaffs galore, and I shall be looking closely for more scrub warblers in the next week or two, as well as tree pipit.

Several willow warblers were singing - here are one in willow scrub and one on a hedgerow ash tree...
