St Govan's Head and Stackpole this morning

A couple of fairly close in red-throated divers passed St Govan's Head this morning. They flew in an approx. NE direction towards Stackpole Head, perhaps heading for Carmarthen Bay? A dozen or so common gulls (mixed ages) also moved in the same direction (more or less with the divers).

Around 20 snipe were flushed from the damp cliff-top grassland and also a jack snipe near the car park. A red kite hunting over the area created a bit of mayhem with a few chough feeding in some pasture fields inland from St Govan's Head. A few other choughs were feeding on Stackpole Warren where a sparrowhawk was also hunting.

We didn't get over to the Stackpole Centre, but last Friday (and earlier last week) a young male black redstart (probably the same one we saw there a few weeks ago) was flitting about on the roof-tops. It did not stay in any one place for very long to enable very good views.
