The Purple heron showed briefly after work this evening. Whilst chatting to Andy B around 5:15pm the heron flew out of the reedbed by Crabhall and dropped behind one the islands, 10 minutes later it made another short flight and dropped in the channel. Toby P joined me and Toby picked it out climbing up the reeds before doing another short flight back towards Crabhall. Lisa came and joined us but no further sightings when I left around 7'ish. A female Marsh harrier came off the marsh and drifted over the reedbed in the direction of Marloes Mere. 6 Greenfinch by the car park. Good to see Pete, Kev and Derek also heading down.
