Broad Haven / Solva / Dowrog

Decided to head to Dowrog today, but had a couple of stops along the way.  First up was a walk along the boardwalk around the Slash Pond at Broad Haven.  What an excellent example of a community project this is.  We had good views of Dan's Yellow-browed Warbler with Huw Lewis, and there were a couple of Goldcrests there, along with 2 male Blackcaps, and 2 Chiffchaff.  One of these was collybita, the other looked more like tristis (Siberian Chiffchaff) but didn't call for confirmation.

The possible tristis Chiffchaff

We had a quick stop in Solva where there was a Dipper showing well, sporting a very shiny ring.  The photos allow the ring to partially read - Y1528.  Appears to be a bird ringed locally, as would be expected.  Need to read the whole sequence to know which individual it is though (it should have an R before the Y, and 0-4 after the 8.

On to a blowy Dowrog Common where a male Hen Harrier appeared from the west and quickly dropped in to roost at 1524.  Two minutes later the 2CY Pallid Harrier appeared over Rhodiad-y-Brenin but dropped down below the treeline 30 seconds later.  At 1530 he briefly appeared further south and seemed to drop in to roost exactly where the Hen Harrier had dropped in.
