South Coast

A morning out checking south coast sites, trying to find some shelter from the relentless wind!

Carew River: 2 Greenshank amongst other common waders (Redshank, Curlew, Dunlin).

Freshwater East: Great Crested Grebe offshore. Also nearby it was nice to see at least 2 Yellowhammer feeding with lots of other birds in a large stubble field and cover crop just south of the minor road east of Freshwater East village. Also c50 Chaffinch, c20 Linnet and 35 Skylark there in a quick look.

Manorbier: Great Northern Diver offshore and 14 Oystercatcher on the intertidal reef. A Kingfisher on the small steam behind the beach and a Firecrest in the scrub around the car park.
