Dale airfield

A thorough soaking at the airfield and again at the mere, but if you don't look you don't find, I kept telling myself! 2 Golden plover flying around with a smaller wader, which was most likely a ringed plover over the field by the water trough. At the main intersection a golden plover was calling out of sight I eventually tracked it to a group of five in the former stoney field which is now more vegetated with some nice looking open areas, they did a fly around and dropped back in the field but I couldn't refind them for a closer look.

The mere was brim full compared to recent visits with reduced muddy margins but looking good. No waders to be seen, even the ducks looked miserable. After sheltering in an increasingly leaky Britton hide I made a dash for the car. Probably take a week to dry out!
