Carew

Radford Pill was glorious on a bright, frosty morning earlier today and with the tide dropping there were quite a few birds to be seen. At the Milton end of the Pill there were 5 Curlew, 2 Greenshank, 15 Redshank and a Little Egret. Further up towards the Carew River 600+ Lapwing were standing on the mud with 35 or so Golden Plover. A further 120 Lapwing were roosting in a field on the south side of the Pill whilst on the Carew River over towards Lawrenny 700+ Golden Plover were packed tight on the mud with numerous duck too distant to identify but doubtless in the main Teal and Wigeon.

On the Carew River down towards the Castle there were a further 27 Redshank, 1 Greenshank, 2 Grey Herons and a few Teal.
