Solva

From Andrew Sims - Great day at Solva. A firecrest along with at least 4 goldcrests in the scots pine trees and gorse understorey on the hill overlooking Solva sewage treatment works SM809243. Path down from the Gribbin puts you at same height as the birds and only about 15 m away. Birds feeding and moving so fast it was hard to count them. Plenty of flies in the warm sunshine in this sheltered valley. Also many blackbirds, song thrushes, wagtails, finches and more around the sewage filter bed and adjacent stream. A bit like Rosemarket STW but even more around.

Grey wagtail on the Solva river in the village adjacent to play ground and what looked like a dipper flying away from me fast, low and straight up and along the river from the footbridge nearest the beach. Did not see the front but jizz was spot on. Trekked up the stream through the woods, but could not find it. Little egret in harbour, and peregrine circling over Upper Solva and Careg Lyfn. Choughs and ravens also around, but few gulls and only one distant diver at sea.
