Red-breasted Merganser etc

A single female Red-breasted Merganser was feeding at the Gann this afternoon. At 1.30 it was diving and flying around just off the mouth of the river and later, as the tide dropped, moved up past the footbridge to the river and was busy diving there when I left at 3pm. Also 7 light bellied Brent geese and 3 greenshank, one on lagoon and the other two together on the river. Marloes Mere was very quiet, but about 150 golden plover flew around and finally settled on the furthest ploughed field to the west of the farm.
