Martin's Haven and nearby

Another small fall of Willow Warblers this morning in the valley but, unlike last weekend, this time almost matched in numbers by Blackcaps: 3+ pairs working the scrub and gorse. No signs of the Skomer Hoopoes, but reports of one flying over Marloes village in the morning.

Out on the boat yesterday evening we came across several flocks and rafts of 50-100 Manx Shearwaters from around 1830, and heard our first ones of the year outside the bedroom window at about 2230 last night.

We have seen Sandwich Terns widely spread inside and outside Milford Haven this week, including as far up river as Neyland Bridge, and one that was fishing by Dale pontoon today.
