North & Mid Pembs yesterday

A brilliant day out in the woodlands & uplands of North & Mid Pembs recording 70 species without making an effort to look for anything other than half a dozen target species.  Highlights: 5 Pied Flycatchers (1 at Pengelli, 4 in the Gwaun Valley), 11 Redstarts (Pengelli, Pentre Ifan, Ty Canol & Rosebush), a Wood Warbler (Canaston Woods), 3 Dippers (Gwaun Valley), a Spotted Flycatcher (Pentre Ifan), 5 Cuckoos (Rosebush around to Mynachlogddu), Lesser Redpoll, Red Kite & amazing views of a Tawny Owl near Felindre Farchog crossing the road and sitting in a tree by the roadside calling.  A day to remember!
