Cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo

Whilst Mark B. and I were watching a couple of Cuckoos (2) getting some grief from a male Reedbunting another Cuckoo (3) flew in and joined them briefly just out from Britton Hide. They were quite mobile flying down to pick up caterpillars. Otherwise a couple of well grown Mallard ducklings were the first I've seen here this year and c20 young Starlings. Noticeably fewer hirundines this evening. Last light at the Gann: Another Cuckoo (4) was calling by Crabhall. Highlight though was a family of otters hunting around the pools taking crabs and eels. The Shelduck family was still here and a BH gull.
