Castlemartin Corse

Nice to see some Lapwings back on the Corse with 320 plus - a large group near Starmans Hall and a number of smaller flocks on the far side of the reedbed and at the east end of the Corse.

Otherwise it was pretty quiet and what had started out as a fairly bright albeit breezy morning  soon turned into a wet and windy one. Hard work trudging back down the Corse through mud churned up by the cattle.  Wellies (big ones!) are essential for a visit to the Corse. My spirits were lifted, however, by the female Marsh Harrier which put in an appearance over the reedbed and as I went through the gate by Starmans Hall a Merlin hacked over close by.
