After a few anxious minutes the phalarope fluttered into the bay at 1pm. Richard Stonier and I watched it for a while as it picked up food from the surf. Also an imm/female Black redstart on the church. Bumped into Toby and we had an uneventful look around a saturated Dale airfield. A few more snipe than usual c20, a sparrowhawk and a peregrine. Last light at Lys-y-fran: a good candidate for 1cy Yellow legged gull and a possible sub-adult/3cy, but visibility was poor. A good roost but all tight to Woodstock side.
