Slebech Reedbed/Eastern Cleddau

We checked Slebech reedbed starling roost this evening, numbers flying in at dusk were much reduced. The bulk have clearly moved on, presumably up to Plumstone as they often do by the turn of the year.

A single green sandpiper was feeding along the waters edge of the Eastern Cleddau near the reedbed (a regular over-wintering area for this species). Apart from a few little grebes on the river and some siskins in the trees, it was fairly quiet here this evening and at Blackpool Mill.
