Castlemartin Corse

Brief views of the less well marked Marsh Harrier this morning at a very quiet Castlemartin Corse. The water in front of the reed bed has now dried up after the brief spell of dry weather - no ducks and just one Grey Heron. A party of 30 Lapwings flew over the reeds.

At Starmans Hall a female Merlin flew past. I suspect it struggles to make a living as the area is practically devoid of small birds - I saw 3 Reed Buntings and a dozen or so Skylarks.

5 Gannets were quite close inshore at Freshwater West and as I drove off through the dunes towards Angle the well marked Marsh Harrier flew over the road heading down the Corse.
