Around the Teifi

Several pairs of eyes were birding the Teifi today but the best we could come up with was 2 Knot with an increasing flock of waders. These aren't seen regularly in Spring here.

On The Webley Saltmarsh, just after high tide there were 39 Dunlin, 15 Ringed Plover, 1 Common Sandpiper, 9 Sanderling and 16 Whimbrel
The dunes and surrounding hedgerows on both sides of the estuary were searched for rarities but we had to be happy with a Spotted Flycatcher which aren't always easy to find here. This was in the woodland behind Poppit car park.
On the Teifi Marsh, another 43 Sedge Warblers were ringed early morning. Reed Warblers seem slow to return with only one ringed this morning.
Gary Reynolds checked all the pools and found a Tufted Duck on Kingfisher pond, unusual for May.
