Great White Egret - Teifi Marshes and estuary

A couple of distant shots of today's adult Great White Egret...opposite St. Dogmael's Quay this evening.

Both photos with the Great White Egret standing next to a Little Egret.

The GWE was first seen in flight by Chris Jones whilst ringing on the Marsh this morning at 625am. Then was then watched by Wendy and myself on / off until 725am at a couple of points along the river and in flight over us at the River View Point.

After preparing for tomorrow morning's CES ringing, the GWE was found roosting on the mud opposite the Quay. (photos above by Dyfed and Wendy James)
I have just received a text from Siwan Thomas, the GWE is now roosting with two Little Egrets in trees next to the "Gun Battery" only viewable from the Railings on the Ceredigion side. This is the usual heron roost site.
