With the seabird breeding season starting to wind down I thought I better get over to Skomer whilst there are still Puffins to see. I spent the day there yesterday and was glad I did as the island was a hive of Puffin activity with many fish being brought in to feed the well grown Pufflings, birds loafing around and large rafts of birds in North Haven. I spent ages at The Wick watching birds returning with their catch and avoiding (mainly) the attention of the ever present Gulls. What an amazing wildlife spectacle to have on your doorstep!

In the next few weeks the Puffins will depart but keep up to date with other news from the islands with the blog links on the right. Some interesting recent news from Ramsey on the increase in breeding Manx Shearwaters there after the eradication of Rats and the daily reports from Skokholm are always worth a read.
