Teifi - Great White Egret and other news

1130am the Great White Egret was still feeding around the estuary best from St. Dogmael's Quay at low tide.

Always likely to be distant, but nice photo above from Gary Reynolds capturing some of the returning waders ....and the GWE late this morning. Wader totals so far today...5 Greenshank, 9 Redshank, 32 Dunlin, and 5 Sandwich Terns. Gary also managed 5 rh Goosander from the River View Point on the Reserve and  2 Tufted Duck flying over !!
In addition Wendy had a Ringed Plover fly over Patch, and now 11 Common Sandpipers at the old Jewsons site.
4 Greylag Geese are still with the Canada Geese and last night at high tide a mobile small wader flock contained 6 Sanderling with 12 Dunlin. Also last night 1 calling Whimbrel and 76 roosting Curlew. We now have over 200 returning Black-headed Gulls, and 31 Shelducklings, a very good survival rate.
An adult male Redstart and juvenile Marsh Tit were caught during CES ringing near Kingfisher Pond on the Reserve this morning.
