Kilpaison - Little Stint

Waterproof, 3 layers underneath, wooly hat - it must be summer in Pembrokeshire! Conditions were a tad difficult at Kilpaison (Rhoscrowther) this morning with the wind howling into the bay, heavy overcast but at least dry. A similar mix of waders to yesterday - c.20 Sanderling, 50+ Ringed Plover, 100+ Dunlin, 12 Turnstone (with 6 males still in resplendent summer plumage), 6 Knot, all feeding frantically as the tide dropped. I managed to connect with one Little Stint (thanks Clive) which came close briefly - always great to see these tiny waders.

Round at Angle Harbour there were 8 Little Egrets and, amongst the roosting gulls, 15 Med Gulls - all adults except for one first winter. Few waders here - just 3 Curlew, one Whimbrel and 2 Redshank.
