Marsh Harrier, Mullock Bridge

This email from Alan Hewett:

Just after 5pm today, a Marsh Harrier crossed the road at Mullock Bridge and spent 20 minutes hunting over the marshes towards the Gann, and over the nearby hillside.  It disappeared round the corner (to the Gann) part way through, but returned, gone again by 5:20.  At first sight it seemed a very dark bird. Once bins on it, I could see a little lighter brown on the back, but mainly dark brown.  When it turned towards me the pale forehead was very noticeable even in the rain and dull light.  Didn't notice any pale on the forewings, so maybe a juvenile...
