Sad Heron

This morning an emaciated juvenile Heron turned up in a Dale garden.  This would have been an unusual record anyway but this poor bird had no feet - and had probably been caught in some sort of pole/gin trap as both feet had been cut off roughly at the same height.
It has been reported to the police but the birding community will be interested to know that this sort of thing still happens - and maybe locally.
