Teifi WeBS

An excellent morning birding around the Teifi for the monthly BTO Wetland Bird Survey.
Out at sea there was a Black-throated Diver, 4 Great Crested Grebes and 2 Red-throated Divers.

The highlights on the Teifi Marsh were a Bittern on Kingfisher Pond

and the Slavonian Grebe still upstream of Cardigan bypass bridge. A Peregrine flew over while watching the Grebe.

At the river viewpoint there were 4 Goldeneye and 2 diving ducks that the final consensus of opinion seems to be that they are Tufted-Pochard Hybrids.

Small waders around the estuary included 3 Grey Plover, 52 Dunlin, 15 Redshank, 7 Ringed Plover and a Bar-tailed Godwit. Amongst the gulls there was 1 Mediterranean Gull.
