Castlemartin Corse

At last, extensive surface water. Rough count only (WEBS next week) but in the flooded fields inland from the pines around 1500 each lapwing and golden plover, 500 wigeon, lesser no's of teal and mallard, scattering of shoveler (several) and pintail (at least 4), plus greylags, curlew, black-tailed godwit....snipe wherever you walk. Another 200 lapwing at Starman's Hall, and 400 more on Kilpaison Burrows - well over 2000 in all.

A pair of buzzards the only raptors today - ♀ marsh harrier and sparrowhawk last week.
