Angle Peninsula

Brian's " a day that promised more than it delivered" perfectly sums up our 4-hour walk clockwise round the Angle Peninsula starting from Fresh West at 0700 this morning. A baffling absence of migrants - normally the little valleys on the south side can be relied on for grasshopper warbler, even if too early for sedge warbler, not so much as a wheatear even at East Blockhouse. A brief flurry of swallows, house and sand martins there. Otherwise just linnets, wrens, skylarks, meadow pipits, stonechat.... No raptors, no chough.... A lovely walk nevertheless.
