Sitting having a G&T in the conservatory yesterday evening at Orlandon Kilns I was amazed to see the female blackbird I was watching investigating the mouldy apples I had thrown out on the lawn, morph into a Ring Ouzel as it turned to face me and showed an absolutely classic crescent. It was a female - dark brown with a dirty white crescent. But it was soon chased off by the resident male blackbird. I saw it briefly twice more but it was very flighty and no chance of photos. Quite a cool bird to add to the garden list though!
