Ring ouzels and Pied flycatchers

Another brilliant morning out with Paul to check out some woods and hills. After yesterdays news from Wendy, first stop was Ffynone woods for the Pied flycatcher.  Great to find not one but two singing males near the waterfall my first for years. Pengelli next hoping for more Pieds but none there yet, a stunning male Redstart singing by the entrance though. A dash up to Carn ingli for Ring ouzel but no luck so down to the Iron Bridge, Newport, the male Pintail was on upstream side, and a Common sandpiper was another new bird this year. Finally a trek across Brynberian hoping for an early Whinchat but really delighted to have 2 female Ring ouzels putting on a show. Tafarn-y-bwlch (SN084332). Some hard slog but well worth it for some great birds. Paul's pic below.
