This afternoon I reported what looked to me like a 2cy Herring Gull with a yellow ring X290 with the preening/moulting flock of large gulls downstream from the bridge at Newport.
The report has already come back. It is a Caspian Gull, Larus Cachinnans ringed last June near the German/Polish border.
