A nice walk yesterday out from Dale on the eastern side of the head. This included the “new” foot path that takes you from the path to Dale Fort to the top of Castlereach Woods, and down from Broomhill Farm to Castlereach Bay.
The big surprise here was a newly-ploughed field (approx grid SM 813 054) that had over 100 Snipe. They came off in whisps of up to a dozen at a time. I wonder if they have been driven down from the Presellis by the snow?
