Teifi roosts

A few observations, a more complete picture over the weekend high tides. 1 Ringed Plover with 7 Dunlin in the estuary, and 12 moulting Lapwing on the marsh is unusual. Snipe have returned and 8 Teal yesterday the highest count so far. Curlew and Oystercatchers are very mobile with calling Oystercatchers flying up the Teifi valley overland to reach the Carmarthenshire coast, a regular pattern this time of year.
Redstart and Lesser Whitethroats were on the reserve yesterday and Redpolls are frequently flying over the marsh every day. c1000 Swallows were feeding and went to roost c10pm this evening, by far the highest count of the Summer and Swifts are still with us.
