Winter Farmland Bird Survey

Brian & myself did part one of this survey on behalf of the National Trust this morning covering some fourteen fields split between Trehill & West Hook farms that have no public access, so first of all thanks to Pete Smithies of Trehill & Rob Thomas of West Hook for allowing us to trudge across their land & get right in amongst everything. Bird wise everything one would expect though one or hoped for species were absent or low on numbers while there were big  numbers of others. Either way it was a very enjoyable four & half hours & we're looking forward to part two at the end of December, Brian was the log master so I won't tread on his toes as he's no doubt assimilating all the species & numbers as I write.
