Dowrog update

Last hour of daylight was quite rewarding with a male Hen Harrier showing quite well hunting among and around the scrub before dropping in to roost. Record pics below...





Four swans picked up by Fran flying north, were probably those reported from Trefeiddan by John Best.
Soon after a large Dark Harrier  (Marsh) approached from the north west skirting the common, Again I thought I could make out a pale yellowish head in the gloaming just before dropping down in the same spot as it did on Thursday evening.
A visiting birder from London was lucky enough to have had it fly over his head getting great views.. As the darkness settled in, we got brief views of what was either the male Harrier  or perhaps an owl but the gloom defeated us time to go home for a cuppa...
